Day 186 – Am I Willing?

Everyone’s trying to paddle their own canoe. Steer their own course in life. Not realising or not accepting that mankind has been trying this for centuries, millenia indeed, without breaking the grip of selfishness, futlity and death that comes to all. The cause is sin. And Jesus came to save sinners (Luke 5:32)
There is only one way to break the power of sin. And that is to invite into our lives a person, who stated Himself that: “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
You can’t reduce Jesus to “good teacher”, as some would have him. No one who made the claims he did, left this open as an option. In the words of C.S. Lewis: “One of three things is true, He is either a lunatic, on the level of someone who thinks he’s a poached egg; or a liar … unequalled as a purveyor of deception; or LORD.”
Am I willing to accept Him on His terms? Those in Jerusalem (Day 185) were not, and Jesus said they would find their “house is left to you desolate.”
Lord Jesus, I come to You on my knees, for I can come no other way. Forgive me; restore me; use my life to Your glory. Amen.
