Day 138 – Keep it Simple

“When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’ [Luke 10: 8-11]

I sometimes find myself asking God to lead me to situations where I can talk a bit of Gospel, share my faith, do some good – as if they were not there in front of me every day.

Jesus’ words to the departing disciples instructed them to tackle what they encountered, as they found it, regardless of how welcome they thought they might be. (Day 139)

As with my lifestyle (Day 137), I wonder if I try and over- complicate things? I need to respond to the opportunities around me and keep it simple.

The kingdom of God has come near to you

Prayer:

Father God, I want to be so immersed in You that, wherever I go, people realise the Kingdom of God is near. Only with Your empowering and to Your glory. Amen
